ORDERS AND HOW TO SHOP

In our Flowers and Origin Direct Collections, batch size refers to the number of stems or weight per batch for that particular product. Quantity refers to the number of batches you would like to purchase.

For example, most AMBL roses come in batch sizes of 10. If you would like to purchase 10 stems, please select a quantity of one. If you would like to purchase 20 stems, please select a quantity of two.

Other products (notably lisianthus and certain filler flowers or greenery) may come in batches measured by weight, for example, 0.3kg or 0.6kg. This is due to the physical nature of the flower or foliage type which may present a range of one to six or more blooms per stem. AMBL, in alignment with growers, therefore offers such varieties in batches by weight rather than stem count. In such cases, a quantity of one consists of one pack weighing, for example, 0.3kg or as stated per product.

In our DIY Box Collection, batch size refers to the number of boxes. All DIY Boxes come in batches of one. A quantity of one is equivalent to one box.

All Subscriptions come in batches of four, equivalent to one Subscription box, delivered weekly or biweekly, for four deliveries.

The majority of flowers in the Flowers and Origin Direct Collections come in batches by stem count (for example, 1,2,3,5, 10 or 20 stems). However, some products, such as lisianthus, come in batches by weight (for example, 0.2kg, 0.3kg or 0.6kg). This is due to the physical nature of the flower and foliage type which may present a range of one to five or more blooms per individual stem. Growers, therefore, offer such products by weight rather than stems.

Please contact our customer service team if you are having issues with placing an order online. Email them with the products you’d like to order as well as desired delivery date, and delivery address details. Our team will be in touch to help you complete the order.

If the stock level displayed is zero or below the quantity you require, unfortunately it is unlikely we can assist you due to availability. Most of the time, however, our customers are able to find satisfactory substitutes and similar varieties on the AMBL website by browsing or using the search and filter functions.

While we make every effort to ensure consistency, occasionally we will substitute your chosen flower variety due to availability, quality control and natural variation. Our florists will select the closest available substitute of equal or greater value without, in most cases, notifying you in advance. If, however, we believe that the best available substitute is very different in colour or type, we will contact you in advance regarding whether you would like to proceed with your order or obtain credit for a later purchase. Please note that seasonally dependent products (such as peonies, tulips and hydrangeas) may be difficult to substitute as they approach the end of their season.

PRICING

For Flowers and Origin Direct products, prices correspond to the price per batch. For example, if the price displayed is HKD50, and the Batch Size is 10, then one batch (consisting of 10 stems) of that product is HKD50.

For DIY boxes, the price displayed is the price per box.

For Subscriptions, the price corresponds to the price per box. Subscriptions come in batches of four (one box per delivery, for four deliveries) so the total cost per Subscription is four times the price per box.

As part of commitment to offering a competitive market rate to customers, changes in product prices on the AMBL website partially reflect pricing dynamics in the floral industry due to seasonal availability, market demand, variations in grower harvests and other supply chain factors. For this reason, during peak seasons such as Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, demand tends to surge, leading to higher prices. Conversely, during off-peak times, flower prices are lower.

Please note that prices on the AMBL website will change without notification.

DIY BOXES

Our popular DIY boxes are curated bundles of flowers and greenery, wrapped in kraft paper, delivered in sustainable cardboard boxes for you to trim and style in your own vase. Please note, they are not gift-wrapped bouquets, though many of our customers enjoy gifting DIY boxes to friends and loved ones.

Unless otherwise stated, most DIY boxes contain three to four key ingredients as displayed in the grid photo with additional complementary fillers and greenery. All flower types and greenery are curated by our team of florists using the finest seasonal stems and will differ each time. Some DIY boxes consist of single variety bundles. Please see product details.

Vases are not included but can be purchased separately. For flowers arranged in a vase, please shop from our Vase Arrangements collection.

Colour Boxes, such as the Pink Box or Blue Box, are a subcategory of the DIY Box Collection. They are surprise boxes in your choice of colour palette. Unlike standard DIY boxes, in which some flower varieties are guaranteed, in a Colour Box, all stems are individually curated each day and will differ from box to box. Simply select your colour theme and our florists will do the rest.

In general, each DIY Box contains approximately 25-35 stems with variation due to the head size and value of the different flower varieties included in the box. Where high value or large-headed flowers (such as hydrangeas or peonies) are included, your DIY box may contain fewer stems in total.

DIY Boxes are designed for you to enjoy the process of handling and arranging flowers. Simply follow the basic steps below:

  • To optimise vase life, handle your flowers as soon you receive them. Prepare a clean vase and fill up to ¾ of the vase with water. If available, add flower food according to the sachet or container instructions.
  • Remove all foliage below the water line from each stem and, using floral scissors, cut each stem at a 45 degree angle to the desired length.
  • Trim of any flower parts (such as wilted leaves, or excess blooms) which you do not require for your arrangement.
  • Arrange the flowers in your vase and keep in a cool place, out of direct sunlight, wind drafts and heating.
  • Daily or every two days, cut the stems by 1.5 - 2cm, pour out the water, clean the vase and refill with fresh water. For more tips on handling and arranging your flowers, please see our Basic Guide to Flower Care.

Products in the Flowers Collection are de-thorned, partially trimmed, wrapped as loose stems in kraft paper and delivered in our 100% recyclable cardboard box. As part of our sustainability commitment, most flowers in this category do not come with hydration bags. However, during hotter months, particular varieties may be packaged with hydration bags or small water vials.

Origin Direct flowers are typically delivered in their original grower or local distributor packaging (most often in cardboard or plastic sleeves) and condition (without foliage or thorns removed).

Gift Collection flowers are delivered as gift-wrapped bouquets or vase arrangements. Please see individual product details.

DELIVERY

For the majority of products on the AMBL website, we deliver to all addresses on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories.

For flower Subscriptions, we currently do not deliver to the New Territories.

We currently do not deliver to outlying islands though we are working on expanding our offering.

Shipping is set at the following flat rates: HKD120 Hong Kong Island; HKD160 to Kowloon and; HKD220 to the New Territories.

Free delivery is offered for all orders over HKD1000.

Standard deliveries (for Flowers and Origin Direct Collections) are made between 10am and 7pm, Mon, Weds and Fri.

Deliveries for products in our Gift Collection are made daily from Mon-Sat, between 10am and 7pm. We do not deliver on Sundays.

For festive dates, such as Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and Chinese New Year, delivery days and time slots may vary. Please see individual product details.

Should you require a specific delivery time slot, we will do our best to accommodate. Please email our customer service team. If confirmed, an additional charge of $100 applies.

If no one is available to receive the flowers at the shipping address provided, our courier will leave the flowers with the concierge, if available, or at your doorstep. Should you prefer otherwise, please state your preference in the comments section at checkout. Please note that we will not be responsible for the condition of the flowers if they are not collected within 2 hours of delivery.

If you have not received your order during the expected timeframe, please contact our customer service team.

Due to our sourced-to-order model, we do not offer same or next day delivery at present.

Currently on the AMBL website, for products in the Flowers or Origin Direct Collection, you may only select from the three delivery date options displayed (the first three Monday, Wednesday or Friday four days following the current date).

For orders over HKD1000 we are happy to assist with advance orders. Please email our customer service team for next steps. Please note, if you are ordering more than three weeks in advance, some seasonally-dependent varieties may not be available.

RETURNS, REFUNDS, CREDIT & CANCELLATIONS

We strive to deliver optimum freshness and quality at all times and are continuously working to enhance our offering. If, however, you are not happy with the quality and freshness of the flowers received and, if deemed acceptable following an assessment of your flowers, we are pleased to offer credit for your next purchase.

Please note, for flowers under the Flowers and Origin Direct Collections, which are offered at close or comparable to wholesale prices, a damage ratio of up to 1-2 stems per batch of 10 (or equivalent) may occur, for which we do not offer credit. This is due to the perishable nature of flowers and variable environmental factors from packaging through transit.

If you find a damage ratio greater than the aforementioned, please contact us with a photo of all damaged stems as soon as possible and no later than 12 hours from the time of delivery. Our customer service team will then assess your flowers and contact you with next steps.

For products in the Gift Collection, if you are not happy with the quality and freshness, please email us with a picture as soon as possible and no later than 12 hours from the time of delivery. Our customer service team will assess your flowers and, if and as deemed acceptable, process credit for your next purchase or a replacement on the next available delivery date.

Unfortunately, due to the perishable nature of flowers and our sourced-to-order model, we regret that we cannot offer returns, refunds or cancellations.

We are happy to update your shipping address or card message. Please contact us no later than four working days before your scheduled delivery date.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Our popular Subscriptions are surprise boxes of flowers delivered to your doorstep every Monday, Wednesday or Friday at weekly or biweekly intervals, with complimentary delivery. They generally contain a variety of focal flowers, fillers and greenery but occasionally may consist of single variety bundles. Each Subscription package consists of four deliveries. Simply select the product which aligns with your preference in terms of delivery day and frequency.

Please note, we currently deliver flower Subscriptions only to addresses on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon. We do not deliver Subscriptions to the New Territories.

Subscription flowers are packaged in the same way as DIY boxes - as loose stems wrapped in kraft paper and delivered in a 100% recyclable cardboard box. Stems are trimmed and de-thorned by our team. You simply need to remove excess foliage, cut stems to the desired length and arrange in your own vase.

If you are sending a Subscription as a gift, you may include a complimentary message card with the first delivery by entering a message in the remarks section during checkout.

We are happy to pause your subscription if you are out of town or for any other reason. Simply contact our Customer Service team with the pause and resumption date 4 working days before your next scheduled delivery. Please note, each Subscription (4 deliveries) must be completed within 3 months.

Our subscription boxes are thoughtfully designed by our team of florists using the finest seasonal flowers and foliage in a variety of colour palettes and styles to delight you each time. For this reason, we do not customise Subscription boxes.

If you would like a particular colour-theme or flower type, please shop from our DIY Boxes collection. Should you wish to order a customised box or arrangement, please contact our Customer Service team.

Our Classic Subscription boxes contain approximately 25-35 stems (less if consisting of high value or large headed flowers such as hydrangeas) of focal flowers, fillers and greenery. Grand subscriptions, while similar, are larger (consisting of approximately 30-40 stems) and will contain flowers which are higher in value (such as peonies, calla lilies and others, depending on the season) or a higher ratio of high-value flowers.

Yes, we are happy to assist with changes to your shipping address. Please contact our Customer Service team. Please note, you will need to update the information at least 48 hours before your next scheduled delivery.

Each purchase of a Subscription (inclusive of four deliveries) is pre-paid in full at checkout.

Should you wish to receive more than four deliveries of our Subscription Boxes, simply add more quantities when you purchase a Subscription. For example, if you wish to have eight deliveries weekly across two months, simply order two quantities of the weekly Subscription. Unless otherwise stated, this will be processed as one delivery per week, for eight weeks.

FLOWER INFORMATION

We strive to deliver optimum freshness through our sourced-to-order model through which we source only the flowers you require for the date you require. As far as possible, your flowers reach you within 24-36 hours of their shipment arrival in Hong Kong.

As flowers are a natural product, vase life varies between varieties, seasons, batches and even stems of the same batch. In general, expect vase life to be longer during cooler months and shorter during warmer months. Vase life is also shorter as varieties approach the end of their season. Please also note that some varieties, such as dahlias, peonies and garden roses, have a naturally shorter vase life.

To optimise the longevity of your flowers, we recommend that you:

  • Unwrap and handle your flowers immediately after delivery.
  • Prepare a vase thoroughly cleaned with soapy water. Fill up ¾ of the vase with water.
  • Add flower food to the water according to the container or sachet instructions which can extend vase life by up to 20%.
  • Remove excess foliage and all foliage which falls below the water line.
  • Cut each stem at a 45 degree angle to optimise water absorption.
  • Arrange your flowers in the vase, allowing for some space between each bloom to give it room to breathe.
  • Keep your flowers in a cool place, out of direct sunlight, wind drafts and heating.
  • Cut 1-2cm off the stems and change the water daily or every 2 days.

Origins (CN for China, EC for Ecuador, NL for Netherlands, KE for Kenya, JP for Japan, TW for Taiwan) for most products are specified in product details. Products such as gift bouquets, which may contain flowers from more than one origin, are generally listed as multi-origin.

Flowers in our Flowers Collection are largely sourced from the finest growers in Yunnan, China, though occasionally, also from Guangzhou, China, as well as, for certain types of orchids, from Thailand.

Origin Direct flowers are sourced from a number of well-established flower-producing countries including Kenya, Ecuador, Taiwan, Japan and others.
